Assessment, Accountability, Research, & School Improvement (AARSI)

One of the goals of the Teaching and Learning Center with the AARSI team is to ensure that students' learning outcomes, progress, and achievements are effectively measured and tracked. Here are some additional key objectives and responsibilities that guide our assessment practices in LCPS:

  • Ensuring assessments are aligned with learning standards

  • Collecting and analyzing the data with the lens of educational improvement

  • Using the data to individualize instruction and goal setting

  • Evaluation of programs to determine achievement towards program goals

  • Aligning professional development opportunities to data

  • Communication with all stakeholders regarding assessment best practices

  • To facilitate a comprehensive and fair evaluation of student learning while providing educators and administrators with valuable information to enhance teaching and learning strategies

How can parents see how their child performed on State Assessments?

You will need your child's state identification number. Support with how to obtain this may be found here: Parent Support for Assessments

For students who take traditional assessments Grades 3-8, 11 (NM-MSSA for Reading & Math and the SAT): https://nmparentportal.emetric.net/login

2024-2025 LCPS Balanced Assessment Framework

The goal of a balanced assessment framework is to provide useful information about students’ academic achievement, progress, and needs. View the LCPS Balanced Assessment Framework for 2024-2025 for more information.

Credit by Exam for Unaccredited Coursework- High School Only (Regulation IKAB)

Students who have an official transcript or transcripts from unaccredited institutions may petition for credit by examination for courses appearing on the transcript ONLY. Courses eligible for credit by exam are limited to English, Math, Social Studies and Science. Page 7 of 8 IKAB-R Grading and Reporting

All credits earned through the credit by exam process will be transcribed as an “S”.

Credit by Exam opportunities have concluded for the 2024-2025 school year.

For the 2025-2026 school year, Credit by Exams will take place the following dates:

  • August 28, 2025

  • October 13, 2025

  • February 13, 2026

  • April 6, 2026
